The Most Unsettling Movies Ever

For varied reasons, we've compiled a list of the most unsettling films we have encountered on film from visceral and visually grotesque to psychologically disturbing. After exposing ourselves to images and ideas we don't recommend for the average movie-goer, we're often asked just what it is that draws us to these kinds of film.

"When directors and actors push the envelope, invoke a feeling that makes you assess your core values and offers you something more than what you expected, there's an appreciation we critics feel for the directors and actors investment in their work."

It's difficult to rate these kinds of film because the quality varies.  This list is for the avid film buff, who wants something that's a step beyond their comfort zone.

This list is currently being updated.  Check back for the full list.
